The Parry Sound Municipal Airport is located 22 kilometers south of the Town of Parry Sound in the beautiful Township of Seguin, District of Parry Sound.  The airport services Georgian Bay and the Muskoka Lakes.

Construction of the Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport commenced in 1978 and the airport was officially opened in the spring of 1979.  The airport facilities consisted of a 3,000 ft. runway, 200 ft by 250 ft. apron, a connecting taxiway, access road, and float plane base at Roberts Lake. In 1981 medium –intensity airfield lighting was installed.  The terminal building was constructed in 1983 and in 1984 an airport master plan was carried out.  In 1985 the runway was extended an additional 999 ft. and a non-directional beacon was installed on the extended runway centerline. 

Lawrence Aero Enterprise was the first business on the field in 1982, followed by Found Aircraft Canada Inc (1999) and BP Flight Training (2001).

Phase 1 of the airport expansion project was completed in 2007.  Included in this expansion were 17 private hangars on the east side, extensive infrastructure upgrades, and terminal addition.  Furthermore, the addition of Axt Machine & Tool started the beginning of the “Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport Industrial Park”.

2007 also produced the airport strategic plan which was developed and implemented by the end of the year.

By the end of 2008 Phase 2 of the expansion project was completed. The industrial park infrastructure was upgraded to accommodate Pro Safe Fire Training Systems Inc, Power Products and Project X, as well as future businesses that wish to take root in our quickly growing industrial park.

The terminal currently offers a flight planning station and a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy a home cooked meal and wireless internet. Wings Café is open daily from 9 am to 2 pm with indoor and outdoor seating.

Phase 3…currently in the planning stage for more private hangars and commercial facilities, coming soon.
